Woof 66

"Budster" "Budley" "Budders" ... let the nicknaming begin! Just like my cat Darla is NEVER called by her actual name, I doubt Buddy will be either :)

We had a fun weekend. The weather was just gorgeous and we were gone most of the day Saturday and Sunday. I wanted to take advantage of every last drop of daylight except, if we went out right at sunrise I thought it would be too chilly for him. So this afternoon I stopped at the pet store and bought Buddy some outerwear to keep him warm! He tried on a bright yellow raincoat with a hood, and although it was a little too big for him, he looked ADORABLE! lol. We settled on a hooded sweatshirt and a t-shirt for milder weather.

Another reason we weren't out from sunrise to sunset as I would have liked - my stamina just isn't the same as it was before my long winter of hibernation! Buddy's isn't all the great either, so both days we had to come home for a 2 hour nap but then we went right back out. We went to 2 different dog parks today. Buddy met lots of new friends, of the doggy and human variety. We also went to Flaming Geyser State Park both days.

Here's the little fella showing off his new t-shirt. He picked it out, cuz he has great taste like him Momma :)

Laters!

Buddy

On April 4th I adopted a dog. He's the best little dog! His name is Buddy and he's a 1 year old chihuahua. He has a few behavioral issues but he's still very much a puppy and we are are working on potty training and leash training.

He's really great though - he's sweet, energetic, very loving, smart, and eager to obey. We bonded almost instantly. He wants so badly to please and obey but doesn't always understand what I'm asking so he just puts his ears back, rolls over on his back, and looks up at me with big golden-brown eyes like "I don't know what you want Momma but you're the boss" lol. He's afraid of his own shadow at times and fearless at other times. He takes really well to people, cats, and other small dogs, making lots of friends at the dog park in Federal Way. He seems interested in the big dogs and wants to sniff them but then puts on a tough guy act and barks and sometimes tries to go after them. He just needs to be socialized with other dogs and we work on that every weekend.

Below is a little video I took on our walk yesterday. I took it to show my Mom how Buddy sort of prances when he walks. Like a Clydesdale he lifts his front legs really high. The prancing is more exaggerated when he's feeling happy or proud. He's my little boy!

(Sorry for the crappy camera work!)

Mt. Redoubt at it again

How much ash does this volcano have anyway? Hope it runs out soon.

These pics were recently snapped from about 80 miles away by a freind of a co-worker:
