Dear Diary...

I kind of miss blogging so I thought I'd write even though I really have nothing to say. I think I'm done writing about Obama for now, got it out of my system. I've always enjoyed writing, and I use a lot of words even when I don 't have a lot to say, and that is why Twitter will never work for me. What is the limit, like 140 characters or something? Ha, gimme a break! Never gonna happen. I like blogging, even if no one were to ever read it.

It's somewhere around midnight between Friday night and Saturday morning, it's 37 degrees outside and while some may be out clubbing or lingering at bars after Happy Hour, I'm exactly here I want to be - curled up on my couch in a comfy over-sized knit sweater, drinking hot cocoa, and just about to pick up where I left off on the novel I'm reading. I'm still jonesing for my summer travels, but there's something to be said for winter hibernation too. I think I've mentioned before that I recently discovered the 24 hour coffee shops on every corner are not completely useless to me. I just got back from a midnight run to Big Foot Java to get a hot cocoa. But this isn't just any hot chocolate - tonight they made mine with real steamed milk, Hershey's chocolate syrup, real caramel sauce, and whipped cream on top. I usually get French Vanilla, but I thought I'd try something new tonight - for YUMS! I think I've also mentioned that I recently joined a book club. Tomorrow is the first meeting I'll be attending. The boook is the first of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It's a funny, clever series about a New Jersey woman full of personality and spunk who, being laid off from her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store and desperate for cash, goes to work for her cousin Vinnie as a bounty hunter. I like the author's writing style a lot so I devoured the first book within 2 days and now I'm working on the 2nd. I think there's something like 12 books in the series, so I've got something to look forward to until summer returns to the mountains.
