It's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game...*cry*
Believe it or not, I've been following the Twins very closely this season and last night's game was a heartbreaker. After sweeping the Sox, it seemed we had some momentum and might plow ahead to capture the title without the need of a tie-breaker. I wish I could be mad at the White Sox - our nemesis, that nagging thorn in our sides all season long. I wish I could be mad at Detroit for losing to the Sox and forcing the tie-breaker. I wish I could be mad at Thome for hitting that nauseating homer last night. But the truth is, the Twins beat themselves. They had every opportunity to take the pennant but they just fell short. It happens to the best of 'em. And we still love our Twins no matter what. Next season they will rock our socks! (or Sox, ha)
I was thrilled to be able to watch most of the games online this season and I even had the opportunity to see two games at Safeco Field. What a beautiful stadium! I can only imagine how awesome it will be to watch the Twins play at Target Field. And I WILL be there to see some games, even if I have to fly there and back in one day.
Here are a few pics from Safeco to reminisce about the good old boys of summer (or should we now call them the boys of spring, summer, and fall?)

Me impersonating a Mariners fan posing with the Mariner Moose. They are slowly converting me :) The heaping plate of garlic fries was a nice touch, dontcha think? Back in MN we have Dome Dogs and out here it's Garlic Fries. The whole stadium smells like an italian restaurant! I was getting some peer pressure to try them so I did. I only ate a couple, they are very strong!

I think I might start a Twins blog next year, that would be a blast!
~ Bye for now
