July
Since I'm back in a posting mood I thought I'd catch you up on what I did while I was taking a break from the internet. (Or trying to, it isn't easy!) I really didn't do all that much this summer. I'm trying to save money for vacation next year.
In July I visited Dash Point State Park - it has hiking trails as well as a nice sandy beach right on Puget Sound. The water is freezing at first, but it quickly warms up, or rather you quickly get used to it. There wasn't a real bonanza of photo ops here but it was a few hours well spent.

Above: This is a slug all scrunched up eating vegetation

Above: This is the same slug later on. What can I say, I find these things kinda interesting.

These next photos were taken at Des Moines Marina around the 4th of July I believe.
As I was taking these photos there was a news reporter standing a few feet away doing a live broadcast about a car that went into the water earlier in the day. It was a sad story, an elderly gentleman stepped on the gas intead of the brake. Bystanders were able to save him but his wife and dog didn't make it.
I should have just done a panorama of these two shots
That's about all for July, it was a slow month. Much more to come tomorrow with August. And coming soon... pictures of my new apartment. It's not that new anymore but it's new to you.
